Closer II

I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you

[Damien Rice]

It is quite easy to write verses of the same lines
Why not to try something more semantic?

I just used the words of Damien Rice for this entry,
cause I found myself in them. Thats perfectly fine for me. And if your thoughts constantly circle around the same person... it's kinda repetetive then anyway, isn't it?

So... no offence, but what's your problem?

My problem? no problems at all, why should there be any?
This is no poetry, isn't it? The poetry in my vision is something lirical, with rhytms and motive. Except for Japanese Haiku When I think of a dear to me person, the thoughts repeat, agree, but they do not pretend to be a poem they are simply staning in a row.

When it comes to poetry, I esteem Erich Fried.

This one here is... a songtext. Lyrics taken from a, imho, beautiful song. Songs do not simply exercise an attraction by their lyrics (but also by melody, instruments, rhythm, pitch, vocal tone, ...), whereas a poem usually convinces only by its words.

And in "The Blower's daughter", these lyrics, combined with melody and the singer's voice, completely take me in. I feel no need for other lyrics. I enjoy them just the way they are.
